Halloween is our little family's favorite holiday, so when I was presented with the idea to attend Pumpkin Nights, I knew I had to do whatever it took to get my daughters and me to the Pumpkin Farm for hours of outdoor fun.
Oh, and words cannot explain the gratitude for this event and the family connection it brought. From the moment we parked and walked up the long, dirt trail to enter the event, we just knew it was going to be a night to remember.
We arrived at 6 PM and did not leave until 9 PM! It has been years since we have been able to take time like this to enjoy our favorite season together as a family and out the world on pause to absorb the beauty that comes from pumpkin patches.
Not only were we together for this entire time outdoors, we were also off of our phones, and we were able to soak up all of the laughter, wind on our faces, dirt on our shoes, and hugs for pictures at several different photo prop areas. Capturing photos and making sure that we highlighted our family humor was amazing and a time to remember. I will never forget the laughter from my girls as they pretended to be hosting a YouTube channel. I will hold onto this laughter as I finish the busy of my semester.
We were surrounded by several other families, which made this outdoor event even more memorable. I am not sure if there are parents like me who sometimes forget the importance of outdoor activities, but when we were all in that space together, none of us seemed distracted by world distractions; we were only captured by what the moment had in store for us! Family Pumpkin Night Fun!
The smell that surrounded us from being in nature was one of a kind. As we walked in the dirt and kicked up the sand, there really was something about being together while strolling through the pumpkin trail and smelling kettle corn and cotton candy.
I am so grateful for the reminder that our class gives us to make sure we connect to nature, and that I had the ability to connect to nature with my daughters.
Pumpkin Nights was a hit, for sure! 10/10 and will be going back next year.
