#2 We grow when nature enriches us!

What an amazing way to start leading responses than by allowing us to go in groups and enjoy nature! Todd, Ana, and I were able to find the perfect connection to nature and create a quote that describes the moment we were in.

This connection allowed me and, I say, my other peers to take a moment, pause, and connect. There is so much hustle and bustle in my day that I rarely have the time to slow down, so this activity allowed me to create a moment of relaxation.

We laughed so hard, and we admired our butterflies and created stories for them as we watched them jump from one flower to the next.

The presentation that we were able to be part of was beautifully crafted, and the fact that they were intentional about creating a space for us to learn outdoors is a true expression of our class. This activity and the way that it made us connect and feel have allowed our group to do the same.

The way that the moment felt, smelled, and sounded will always be remembered. The quote we created together, “There is color within, like butterflies we grow when nature enriches us,” was a symbol of the beautiful collaboration of creativity and teamwork for three busy seniors taking time out to just be!

I often remember this moment that we were allowed to create during class. Each time I walk past the gardens, I remember to slow down and take a breath. Everything will come in time, and it is important to enjoy what God has given us, which is the beautiful nature around us!

I am looking forward to more connections made in nature with my peers, and I am looking forward to creating these moments when the semester is over.

Take a moment to close our eyes, inhale deeply, and exhale as we share gratitude for the gift of life!

# 1 New Mexico - Land of Enchantment

In this moment, in these three days, I felt at peace, I felt in the moment, I felt worthy, and I felt connected. The moment we stepped off the plane on Tuesday night and walked into the airport in Albuquerque, I knew I was in a place of peace. The buildings were different, the airport was smaller, and nature surrounded me. As we were driving, we could see the mountains peaking through, and as I walked down the sidewalks, I saw the mountains looking at me and me looking at them.      As we stepped on the campus of UNM, something amazing happened, and I was surrounded by my people. I was being hugged on all sides by indigenous college students, and I saw signs on several buildings saying "Native American Services." For once, I knew what my fellow students who do not identify as white felt like as they walked on the campus of TCU. I felt a connection to the campus, nature, the people, and the mountains that constantly surrounded us. This feeling of awe ca...

#10 First and Last Football Game as a undergrad..

This was such a beautiful moment that I got to share with my amazing tribe. Being at TCU since fall 2021, I have not ever experienced our football culture. Oh, what fun it was! We had front-row seats, and the fact that the stadium had no roof allowed us to experience nature, football, and so much laughter. I did not know what I was missing until I experienced the first and last game of my undergrad. The energy was epic, the connection was one of a kind, and the laughter was contagious. The fact that we took the win home this day was incredible, and this is the game: TCU vs. Baylor. I have to say that this was the best way to close my undergrad fall semester. Before the game, our organization, Nontraditional Frogs, hosted a watch party for our students, faculty, staff, and community in the Intercultural Center, and this was an incredible highlight for our team, hearing so much laughter.  I was not able to park on campus, so I parked far away, which was ideal, so I could walk on camp...

#5 TCU Day of Service 2023, one of the biggest days of the fall.

TCU Day of Service 2023, one of the biggest days of the fall. Oh, what an amazing day this was for me and several leaders on campus. There was something about arriving on campus at 7 a.m. on a Saturday morning to prepare to welcome several TCU volunteers as they sacrificed their time to serve our community.                                                The chilly feeling in the air hugged me as I stepped on the wet grass for the first time that morning. There was a refreshing feeling that overcame me as I joined my team in creating one of the best welcome ceremonies, creating an exciting environment to start our morning. There was something amazing that took place in nature in the TCU Commons for 2.5 hours as we heard the laughter and chatter of the students and staff who gathered to represent TCU while feeling the breeze brush against us.         ...
